5Degrees Networking Session #5 - Job Seeking - from Your Perspective!
5Degrees Networking Session #5 had us heading back to the topic of Career - this time, from the employee's point of view. But firstly, thanks to Coty Prestige S.E. Asia for providing the door gifts: Calvin Klein Euphoria and IN2U. The precious little bottles jammed up the queue for a bit as people can't decide which they liked better. Though it was another rainy night, and both new and old members were delayed by the rain, but Niels got things started at about 8.30pm after the fragrances were done holding people up at the registration counter. Niels had invited Ruby Chen, Managing Director of DBM, and international HR consultancy company, and Chris Kidd, Marketing Director and very seasoned leader in multi-national companies, to speak for the event. Ruby, with her 25 years of local and international HR consultancy experience, interacted with the floor in a most unhurriedly and calm manner, occasionally having everyone chuckling and laughing with her humorous ways of handling the questions and answers alike.
Paragraph.Niels mediated and added on precious experience that Ruby shared, and Chris and his years of discipline helped with insights both of the speakers mentioned. After a few rounds of exchanges with the floor, time flew without everyone realizing, and Niels thanked our guests for the night and ended the panel at about 9.30pm. Tin came on briefly to make a few announcements; Manpower Staffing Services had a representative to distribute job vacancies on flyers, Peter Kellet working together with AfA, promoting this fundraiser, and Tin announcing 5Degrees Networking session #6, an informational session on aesthetic services by KCS Medical Group, which had the audience looking forward to, with good reasons! Everybody needs a little botox somewhere, no?
The crowd then went about chatting the night away and getting to know each others' trade and profession, before calling it a night on this rainy evening. More pics in the gallery!
